FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Stewardess Bible Announces Final Module of Training Series

‘The Chief Stewardess Bible’ gives superyacht stewardesses a comprehensive overview of managing housekeeping, crew management, and more

MIDDELBURG, FEBRUARY 12, 2020 – Kylie O’Brien, founder of The Stewardess Bible, has just announced that she will soon be releasing the final module in her training series.

‘The Chief Stewardess Bible’ will offer a practical approach to areas including accounting, crew management, and housekeeping while providing tried and true strategies for success.

O’Brien, who has more than two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, founded The Stewardess Bible in 2011 to help other stewardesses get the most from their profession by sharpening their skills with training.

While there aren’t many options when it comes to superyacht stewardess training, O’Brien has carved out a wealth of affordable and free resources that have proven valuable to superyacht stewardesses around the world.

All of the resources at The Stewardess Bible are available online, providing around the clock access for busy stewardesses who need to train at their own pace.

The Stewardess Bible has already fully released three in-depth training modules. The first of these, ‘Achieving Excellence in Service’, offers streamlined strategies for managing everyday tasks.

‘Cocktails’, the second module, offers 21 chapters and 5 appendices dedicated to the ins and outs of making perfect cocktails.

The third module, ‘Housekeeping Perfection’, offers an overview of housekeeping, including green alternatives to harsh chemicals, case studies, and motivational tips.

The fourth and final module, ‘The Chief Stewardess Bible’, is now available. This detailed blueprint to stewardess success takes an administrative look at the superyacht and helps stewardess see the yacht as an organization.

This module includes sections on human resources, operational procedures, and project management. There are 9 chapters including ‘The Challenges of Working at Sea’, ‘Financial Management’, ‘Excelling in Guest Service’, and ‘Housekeeping Supervision, as well as 20 appendices including sample letters of recommendation, service, rejection, and resignation; sample crew profile; basic sewing supplies; a sewing kit; and much more. Superyacht stewardess will get a look at managing their crew, housekeeping, accounting, service instructions, guest requirements, and more within a single easy to access resource.

Quoting John Quincy Adams, O’Brien said,

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”

‘The Chief Stewardess Bible’ debuts on February 20, 2020.

About The Chief Stewardess Bible

The Chief Stewardess Bible is the final training module of The Stewardess Bible series.

It is written from a combined experience of over twenty years of top-end hospitality experience from a range of various 5-star management perspectives.

Twelve years of which was spent as a superyacht chief stewardess and purser.

Working on the premise that each superyacht is unique. The Chief Stewardess Bible aims to provide a solid base, whereby you can adapt the information to the needs of your current yacht.

Furthermore, this book is designed to fill in any operational gaps that may be problematic onboard.  This will enable you to master the interior operational procedures in a stress-free manner.

How To Use This Book

The superyacht industry by nature is an international community, whereby many crew members have a language other than English as their first language.

Whilst there may be an academic undertone to the opening chapters, the following chapters and practical elements of the book are written using simple English grammar.

In addition, all efforts have been made to ensure that the significant leadership components of your job requirements have been met.

Quite simply, when you review the table of content, you will see that the book has been written in a logical manner.

The Chief Stewardess Bible has been organised into four significant parts:

  • Part One – The Superyacht as an Organisation
  • Part Two – Human Resources
  • Part Three – Operational Procedures
  • Part Four – Project Management
Practical Tips

Related material such as checklists, sample inventories and crew profiles have been included in this book.

These documents may be created by using any computer software of your choice. However, for this book, the templates have been created using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

The documents which have been provided throughout this book are examples only and will vary from yacht to yacht.

The guidelines are set out to help you create and design systems that suit you and your team the best.

The most important note to make here is that all of your paperwork must be standardised throughout the interior operations procedures manual.

In other words, all of the applicable documentation relating to the various categories such as:

  • Housekeeping
  • Service instructions and guest requirements
  • Accounting systems
  • Crew management details

Are designed and formatted in the same manner, and all of the details are kept up to date.

Finally, all relevant research has been referenced clearly, and all appendices provide examples of useful forms and letters which the author has developed explicitly for the superyacht industry.

The complete reference list in numerical order can be found at the back of the book.

Disclaimer

This reference manual is written for the superyacht interior manager. For content fluidity and ease of reading, this book will refer to the position of interior manager as the Chief Stewardess and will use the female pronouns she and her.

It is not meant to insult or neglect male interior managers known as Chief Stewards in any way.

Acknowledgements

Many people have inspired and helped me to write this book.  It reflects the influences and contributions from past colleagues, industry professionals whom I admire, and current stewardesses and chief stewardesses who offered invaluable feedback on The Stewardess Bible.

I am particularly grateful to my family, who are a constant source of support and encouragement.

Without their love and support, these books may never have been written.
